01 What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. It lets the site recognise your browser between page loads — for example to keep you signed in, or to remember the filters you last used on a search.
We keep our use of cookies deliberately small. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this website.
02 Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off through the site:
- Session and authentication cookies — set by WordPress when you sign in, so you stay signed in as you move between pages.
- Security cookies — used to validate forms and protect against cross-site request forgery.
Blocking these will prevent you from signing in or submitting a listing.
03 Preference cookies
These remember choices you have made so the site behaves the way you expect — for instance your saved search filters or a dismissed notice. They are optional, and the site remains fully usable without them.
04 Analytics
We look at aggregate figures — how many people viewed a listing, which locations are most searched — to decide what to feature. These figures are counted in a way that does not identify you individually and are never combined with your account details.
05 Third-party content
Some pages embed content from other providers, such as the map on our Contact page. When that content loads, the provider may set its own cookies under its own policy, which we do not control. If you would rather it did not load, block third-party cookies for this site in your browser.
06 Managing cookies
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its settings — usually under "Privacy" or "Site settings". You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which clears cookies when you close it.
Remember that clearing cookies will sign you out and reset any preferences you have saved here.
07 Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a cookie we will update this page and change the revision date shown at the top. Our Privacy Policy explains how any information collected through cookies is handled.
